September is almost over. It may actually be over by the time I get this posted. That’s so incredibly strange to me.
I have been teasing that I was going to change my instagram account (Bits of Magic) from Disney work to new studio work for months now. I literally have boxes of all sorts of pieces. Stacks of watercolor, stacks of intaglio prints, oil sketches and paintings, charcoal and graphite drawings, little gouache studies…. It’s a little absurd. Still, I have yet to be motivated enough to actually do it.
I’ve been caught up in doing the work, as well as coming to terms with this new world we have upon us. And if I’m completely honest, once I left social media, there was a point that I not only didn’t miss it, but I realized that people didn’t miss me being there, and that was really okay.
But in the process I became even more reclusive than before and very close to being antisocial altogether. That’s probably not okay.
So, in the hope of feeling some sense of commitment, I am working on updating my website as well as figuring out how the store works when it isn’t coming from suppliers. I also hope to start quietly going back to instagram…even if it’s a little painful.
I hope this finds you happy and healthy and enjoying the cooling winds of autumn. It has been a perfect summer here, and autumn is starting just as beautifully.
